Caratteristiche di alcune congiunzioni subordinative
Consideriamo in particolare le più comuni congiunzioni
dichiarative, condizionali, dubitative, temporali e causali.
that “che”:
si trova di solito dopo verbi come: to add, argue, assert,
believe, certify, know, say, seem, state, tell, think, e molti
altri;
Esempi:
She
said (that) she wouldn’t go with them.
Disse che non sarebbe
andata con loro.
I know
(that) he will agree some day.
So che sarà
d’accordo un giorno o l’altro.

believed (that) he wasn’t dead.

fosse morto.
if “se”
(condizionale) - per chiarimenti sui clicca il bottone
even ifanche
se”
only if“solo se”
“periodi ipotetici”:
Esempi:
If we
had known, we wouldn’t have come to an agreement.
Se lo avessimo saputo,
non saremmo giunti a un accordo.
Let me
know in case he comes alone.
Fammelo sapere nei
caso che venga da solo.

it in my stead.

They’ll
come only if you tell them yourself.
Verranno solo se
glielo dirai tu stesso.
Nell’uso letterario e in qualche testo formale, talvolta if
Had we
known, we wouldn’t have come to an agreement.
if (= whether, più
familiare)
whetheror
POPUP
