Il passato inglese (semplice e progressivo) e il trapassato

Esercizio sulle forme del passato dei verbi inglesi.

La storia è al passato. Devi completarla coniugando i verbi tra parentesi al passato semplice, al passato progressivo o al trapassato a seconda delle necessità

Usa TUTTE MAIUSCOLE (CAPS LOCK) e se devi inserire più di una parola lascia un solo spazio. Usa le forme contratte ove possibile.

    One morning a motorist (see) ___1___ two men who (walk) ___2___ along a lonely country road.

    They (carry) ___3___ heavy bags, so he (call) ___4___ the police immediately.

    In fact the police (broadcast) ___5___ a message on the radio asking for information which might lead to the arrest of two thieves who (stop) ___6___ a train and (steal) ___7___ mail-bags containing a lot of money.

    The police soon (arrive) ___8___.

    They (question) ___9___ both men who (not answer) ___10___.

    So the police (take) ___11___ them to the police station.

    When they (arrive) ___12___ there, both men (refuse) ___13___ to say anything and simply (point) ___14___ at their bags.
