Età

Si notino questi vari modi di esprimere le età:

How old is he?	Quanti anni ha?
He is thirty (years old).	Ha trent’anni.
I don’t know his age / how old he is.	Non so quanti anni abbia.
The baby is three months old.	Il piccolo ha tre mesi.
They have a three-month-old baby.	Hanno un bambino di tre mesi.
What’s his age?	Che età ha?
He’s aged seventy. / He’s seventy (years of age).	Ha settant’anni.
She’s a teenager. / She’s in her teens.	È un’adolescente (tra i 13 e i 19 anni).

Altri esempi e osservazioni:

How old are you?	Quanti anni hai?
I’m twenty (years old).	Ho vent’anni.

Le parole years old sono normalmente omesse nella conversazione.

Year, month, week, day sono singolari quando l’intera espressione è usata come attributo:

When he was a twelve-year-old boy...

Quando era un ragazzo dodicenne ...
