Questi cinque verbi sono spesso usati per esprimere l’idea di
"portare". Bring e
take indicano rispettivamente un
movimento verso chi parla e lontano da chi parla:
Waiter,
please bring
me a cup of tea.

Carry indica il trasportare, lo
spostare qualcosa di pesante, o il portare con sé:

I

Non porto mai molti
soldi con me.
|
Wear indica il portare indosso:
He
usually wears
a hat.
|
Di solito porta il
cappello.
|
She
used to wear
her hair long.
|
Portava i capelli

|
Fetch indica l'andare a prendere:
Please fetch
my eyeglasses. I left them in my bedroom but I need them here.
