ASK

La preposizione for è usata nel senso di “chiedere per avere” e non si usa per “chiedere per sapere”:

There’s a policeman over there: ask him the way.	C’è un vigile laggiù: chiedigli la strada.
He asked me for a pound.	Mi chiese una sterlina.
