Mutamenti di avverbi nel discorso indiretto

Se chi ci telefona dice: “Qui da noi sta piovendo forte”, riferendo in seguito la telefonata ad altri diciamo “Ha detto che là da loro stava piovendo forte.” Qui è diventato là, noi è diventato loro e sta è diventato stava. Dei cambiamenti di tempo si parla in quest’altra pagina LINK e i cambiamenti di pronome sono del tutto analoghi a quelli che avvengono in italiano. Inoltre ne abbiamo visti già parecchi esempi.

Riprendiamo la frase iniziale, questa volta in inglese, osservando l’avverbio di luogo.

“It’s raining hard over here”. He said that it was raining hard over there.

Oltre al mutamento di here in there, ed altri analoghi avverbi di luogo, ci sono mutamenti di avverbi di tempo, quando si riferisce qualcosa che è avvenuto nel passato.

today that day

Last week she said, "My friend is leaving today".	Last week she said that her friend was leaving that day.
La settimana scorsa disse: “La mia amica parte oggi”.	La settimana scorsa disse che la sua amica partiva quel giorno.

now then

He is going home now.	He said he was going home then.
Sta andando a casa ora.	Disse che stava andando a casa allora.

tomorrow the next / following day

We said, "We’ll do it tomorrow".	We said we would do it the following day.
Dicemmo: “Lo faremo domani”.	Dicemmo che l’avremmo fatto il giorno dopo.

yesterday the day before

He bought a new car yesterday.	He told us he had bought a new car the day before.
Comprò un’auto nuova ieri.	Ci disse che aveva comperato un’auto nuova il giorno prima.

next week / month / year the following week / month / year

He will leave for London next month.	He promised he would leave for London the following month.
Partirà per Londra il mese venturo.	Promise che sarebbe partito per Londra il mese successivo.

last week / month / year the previous week / month / year

She said, "My brother came to Italy last year".	She said that her brother had come to Italy the previous year.
Disse: “Mio fratello venne in Italia l’anno scorso”	Disse che suo fratello era venuto in Italia l’anno precedente.

ago before.

We were in England two months ago.	We wrote them we had been in England two months before.
Eravamo in Inghilterra due mesi fa.	Scrivemmo loro che eravamo stati in Inghilterra due mesi prima.
