    Every fa parte anche dei seguenti composti: everybody, everyone "tutti" (persone); everything "tutto" (cose); everywhere "dappertutto, ovunque".

    Tutti conoscono Mr Wong nel quartiere cinese.

    They had a smile and a present for everyone.

  • each ciascuno, ognuno; si usa solo con nomi singolari e più di every sottolinea l'individuo o il singolo oggetto

    Each time I was with her I felt happy.

    Tutti i prodotti sono collaudati accuratamente prima di essere distribuiti.

    Each girl has her own locker.

  • both tutt’e due, entrambi

    Both my brothers were abroad.

    Tutti e due i miei fratelli erano all’estero.

    Confronta con:

    Vidi tutti i miei amici. (più di due).

    All e both possono assumere diverse posizioni nella frase:

    The boys all passed their exams.

    Tutti i ragazzi passarono gli esami.

    They both left on Saturday night.

    Partirono tutti e due il sabato sera.

    They were both tired.

    Erano entrambi stanchi.

    They had both gone.

    Se ne erano andati tutti e due.

    Both the students left the college at the same time. (ma: The two students... )

    Tutti e due gli studenti lasciarono l’università allo stesso momento.

    All the girls were laughing at them.

  • enough può essere aggettivo e allora può trovarsi prima o dopo il nome; come avverbio, segue sempre l'aggettivo o l'avverbio a cui si riferisce:

    He’s got money enough. (o enough money)

    Ha abbastanza denaro.

    He had enough friends to help him.

    Aveva abbastanza amici per aiutarlo.

    He was good enough to help me.

    È stato abbastanza buono da aiutarmi.

    She plays well enough.

    Suona abbastanza bene.

    ALTRO

    La frase italiana " Vorrei un'altra birra " può significare "Mi dia ancora una birra come quella/e che ho già preso" oppure "Vorrei una birra diversa". In inglese:

  • more (soprattutto in one more, two more...) nel senso di "in più":

    Could you give me one more beer?

    Vorrei un'altra birra.

    More people kept coming into the pub.

    Altre persone continuavano a entrare nel pub.

  • another – aggettivo e pronome; sempre singolare – può assumere entrambi i significati di "un altro":

    Could you give me another beer?

    Vorrei un'altra birra. (ancora una / una diversa)
